Responsibilities

Hexagon is seeking talented, experienced developers to join its multi-faceted team developing and supporting our large and technically-sophisticated Geospatial and Transportation solution suites. Candidates will work with customers and stakeholders to evaluate designs and solutions; perform requirements analysis, system design, software design, and the coding and testing of complex algorithms, interfaces, and business logic on Windows platforms. Candidates will contribute to system specification efforts, develop and integrate solutions, interact with customers to present solutions, complete site acceptance tests, and move systems to productive operations. The ideal candidate will mentor junior project team members. The candidate will interact directly with project managers and technical leads on development projects, and will be responsible for developing significant portions of solution applications. Candidates may also provide support to sales efforts through customer demonstrations and prototypes, and through leading technical interactions with client staff, presenting Hexagon technical capabilities to prospective customers.

 

The candidate will have intermediate to advanced knowledge of database development and DBA skill sets as well as intermediate knowledge of internet based application software architecture and development. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in Oracle Locator/Spatial, Oracle data modeling, PL/SQL, Extract Translate and Load (ETL), data warehousing (Online Analytical Processing (OLAP)), Oracle Locator/Spatial, and development of database packages and triggers. Additional knowledge of web based development languages (.NET, Java, JavaScript, HTML), GIS software usage, and experience in the transportation (DOT) business would be a plus.

 

The candidate’s key tasks will focus on the use of proven database skills to develop database procedures to perform complex data operations to optimize and secure web-based applications. The candidate must be proficient with data modeling and the usage of tools such as Erwin or PowerDesigner to model enterprise data models and facilitate application team development and understanding of the underlying database.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline from an accredited university (ABET accreditation preferred)
  • 3+ years of Oracle database development and data modeling experience working on complex projects, including the use of Oracle Locator/Spatial
  • Expertise with PL/SQL and the development of stored procedures, packages, and triggers
  • Sound problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to play a key role on a team of software development professionals
  • USA Citizen or permanent resident required
