Responsibilities

Hexagon is a leading global provider of information technology solutions that drive productivity and quality across geospatial and industrial landscapes. The Senior Writer is responsible for the development of strategic positioning and cohesive messaging in alignment with global marketing goals. Strong writing and leadership skills are critical to success. Additionally, the successful candidate knows how to draw an audience in and drive action, and understands the nuances of writing content for a variety of formats, channels, and cultures – all in support of a consistent Hexagon voice. The Sr. Writer’s chief concern is the public's perception of a Hexagon, driven by content that provides the right message at the right time.

 

Planning Responsibilities:

  • Create Hexagon-level original content to support the brand storyline and marketing plans, serving as the primary copywriter, editor, and internal consultant for the creation of all marketing content
  • Author creative and diverse content in direct support of marketing campaigns
  • Develop and ensure Hexagon’s voice/personality is defined and differentiated
  • Assist in shaping Hexagon’s content marketing strategy
  • Collaborate closely with marketing team members, executive leadership, and internal subject matter experts
  • Continually innovate and identify enticing ways to tell the Hexagon story across all internal and external platforms (press releases, emails, web copy, presentation decks, digital advertising, newsletters, video, social and event materials, etc.)Establish and maintain Hexagon’s communications policy and standards, ensuring content is consistent and on-brand (style, tone of voice) and optimized for select channels
  • Manage the Shape of Change Honoree program
  • Develop and execute the media strategy for HxGN LIVE, Hexagon’s cross-industry technology conference
  • Establish standard reporting metrics to evaluate content

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English or related field
  • 10 years’ experience in marketing, public relations, communications or a combination of these fields; corporate & B2B experience a plus
  • Adept storyteller capable of memorable narrative development
  • Ability to write compelling, original messaging specifically tailored to print, online and in personKeen ability to translate complex concepts and technologies into simple and intuitive communications
  • A wide degree of creativity in ideation and execution
  • Proven leadership skills for directing communications and overseeing projects
  • Strong results orientation and business driven mentality
  • Impeccable grammar, spelling and punctuation skills; AP style knowledge a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work as part of a team combined with ability to engage with senior leaders
  • Able to work effectively in a rapidly changing and demanding environment across time zones
  • Proactive, energetic, efficient, resourceful team player with a dedication to excellence
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
