The System Engineer will provide on-going system administration, configuration, and maintenance services for a large public safety dispatch communications Center. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:


  • Installation and configuration of servers & workstations
  • SQL Server Database Maintenance, data loading, and backup
  • General System Administration duties such as installing operating system service packs and maintaining user accounts and deploying system and file updates
  • Some GUI customization work and XML/XAML creation/modification will be required but no actual software programming
  • Issue resolution and trouble-shooting of end-user problems in conjunction with the Customer Support Center
  • Informal training for customer staff in system administration activities
  • Maintaining detailed system and configuration documentation
  • Candidate interacts frequently with others within and outside the company and will perform other reasonable and related professional duties as required


  • Prior experience of implementing, supporting, or certifying enterprise software
  • SQL Server database administration experience
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio programming environment
  • This position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both with a team and independently with good communications skills, written and verbal.
  • Candidate must be a self-starter and possess strong problem solving abilities
  • Degree desired, but not required if candidate has equivalent years of experience in Public Safety or related field
  • Must be able to pass and maintain favorable NAC background check

  • Prior experience in supporting Public Safety solutions such as Dispatch, Mobile Data terminals and related software, AVL and wireless Data systems
