    Responsibilities

    • Under minimal supervision the Geospatial Engineer will plan, organize, coordinate and participate in the development and implementation of Geographic Information System (GIS) data
    • Participate in the development and enhancement of GIS information technology to meet internal and external customer mapping objectives
    • Provide expertise, support, assistance, ad-hoc consulting and guidance to internal and external customers
    • Independently perform responsible analytical work in support of customer and management goals and objectives
    • Independently develop required information, including approach and analytical techniques as well as provide sound analyses and recommendations; perform related duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Willing to travel up to 75%
    • Excellent written and verbal communication of technical topics to audiences from varied backgrounds, including executives, managers, professionals, technicians
    • Understanding of and demonstrated application of concepts related to GIS data creation, maintenance, analysis, sharing, storage
    • Understanding of IT concepts related to network connectivity; software installation and upgrading; database design, connectivity, and querying
    • Microsoft Office 365 content creation and collaboration tools
    • Demonstrated skills in GIS operations, including data creation, GIS platform interoperability, data mining, data analysis, cartographic representation
    • Skill at understanding complex workflows and procedures, including troubleshooting issues related to the interaction of multiple datasets
    • Ability to deliver necessary content on time to prevent overall project implementation delays
    • Ability to operate without direct supervision, in home-office or on-site, while maintaining priorities, recognizing roadblocks to success, and requesting support from other resources as needed
    • Operate in a cooperative, team-based group, sharing information with individuals from other disciplines or specialties in ways they can understand
    • Understand roles of various project personnel, both at the customer site and within Hexagon Safety and Infrastructure
    • Honesty and integrity in dealing with customers, team members, and other individuals, including professionalism and respect for differing points of view
    • The ability to envision solutions to complex problems, communicate that vision to others, and measure success towards achieving related goals

    • Exposure to or understanding of Hexagon Safety and Infrastructure product suite, and the use of GIS data within various products and systems including but not limited to
      • GeoMedia Professional
      • Intergraph Computer Aided Dispatch
      • Intergraph WebRMS
    • Relevant experience in a local, county, or state government entity
    • Relevant experience in a public safety (police, fire, EMS) entity
    • Associate’s degree in related field, and ten years of experience with increasing responsibilities or equivalent experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in related field, and six years of experience with increasing responsibilities or equivalent experience
    • Master’s degree in related field, and four years of experience with increasing responsibilities or equivalent experience
