Responsibilities

The role of Staff Accountant in Financial Reporting and Consolidations is crucial to the success of reporting to our parent company (Hexagon). This role consists primarily of monthly, quarterly and yearly Financial responsibilities, as well as special projects.  Other areas of responsibility include Income Tax reporting, and support of the reporting and consolidation system, and US government reporting. This role will require a thorough understanding of accounting standards and a high level of critical thinking in a deadline driven environment.  No travel is expected, and this position reports directly to the Director of Financial Reporting and Consolidations, with indirect reporting to the Tax Director and the Technical Director of BPC. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Preparation of several smaller legal entities’ financial statements in Quickbooks and loading this data into the consolidation program (SAP BPC)
  • Completion of input schedules in BPC specific to Hexagon reporting
  • Review of consolidation process for completeness and accuracy
  • Successful submission of data to Hexagon (Hyperion)
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statement analyses, with a focus on balance sheet items
  • Monthly journal entries for various shared services transactions
  • Preparation and submission, to the US government, of multiple statistical reports
  • Communicating with US and international subsidiaries on intercompany-related issues
  • Maintain tax fixed asset depreciation records within tax depreciation system (FAS)
  • Manipulate data reports from BPC for import into tax accrual systems
  • Special projects and ad hoc reporting, as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, 5+ years of experience in consolidations and foreign currency transactions preferred
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting preferred
  • CPA or CMA or other similar certification required
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience using reporting and consolidation systems such as SAP BPC, Hyperion HFM or other preferred
  • Experience with tax software systems for accrual computations and compliance preferred
  • General understanding of corporate tax
  • Highly organized
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written
  • Ability to learn quickly, work under pressure, and multi-task
